Simpsons Comics and Stories was a special publication of Simpsons Illustrated which was published four times a year by Welsh Publishing Group Inc.
before Bongo Comics Group was formed. It's success led to the decision to form Bongo Comics Group and to stop publication of Simpsons Illustrated.
Therefore this is the only item within the Simpsons Comics guide not published by Bongo (Since
Simpsons Illustrated is listed in another set of documents).
|
This version is the same as the regular Welsh Publishing issue but it is smaller (ashcan size) and it came wrapped in a Butterfinger bag with Butterfinger candy bars.

Credits supplied on the last page presumably apply to the first story and the
preparation of the volume as a whole.
This was only available at Comic Con 2012 and consists of three new stories.
Initial rumours circulated that only 200 copies were distributed, but this number
appears to be incorrect. Note that this same book was released in Australia by Otter Press
(with an Otter Press logo on the cover amongst other minor differences)
and in Spain (in Spanish) and Germany (in German).
We apologize for the blemished cover. Someone appeared to be scribbling on all
the covers distributed at the San Diego Comic Con.

Our own Superman Fry is seen on the left, carrying a large object as people flee, mirroring the
cover that has been repeatedly parodied on the right. While Any Bongo Comics
fan would find the comic on the left to be far more valuable, there are those for whom nostalgia
might have them choose the item on the right, the June 1938 issue of the
Action Comics #1 digest, which included the first appearance of Superman. I have extra copies
of the item on the left if anyone wants to trade me for their extra copies of the original item
on the right.
