The story above Radioactive Man and Fallout Boy in Catch of the Day parodies that tradition. Instead of Hostess Fruit Pies or Cup Cakes we have Krusty Snak Kakes, which they manage to mention in all four panels of this four panel comic. Thought for sure I would find a specific advertisement they took this from, but failing that the writers perhaps improved upon the idea by doing an excellent job capturing the essence of the Hostess ads.
