Illegal Stamps

Countries that are the subject of illegal stamps will traditionally issue circulars through the Universal Postal Union. The entries below are linked to the applicable circular where appropriate. Circulars may refer to the problem in general from the applicable country or may refer to the specific illegal stamp issue. |

Denomination: 5.00 [RUB] Size: 40 mm (H) x 31 mm (W) Perforation: 14 (?) Dated: 1999 UPU Circular: 15 on 14 January 2002 Gummed Single stamp, labelled "1999", "Bart Simpson", "TOUVA" [sic], and "5.00". The Universal Postal Union issued circular 15 for the Russian Federation on 14 January 2002, noting that illegal stamps have been issued in the name of 36 different territorial entities of the Russia Federation. Since these entities have issued no legal stamps any stamp found is illegal. |

Denomination: 3.00 [RUB] Size: 40 mm (H) x 31 mm (W) Perforation: 14 Dated: 2001 UPU Circular: 15 on 14 January 2002 Gummed Single stamp, only seen on cover, labelled "2001", "ADIGEY", and "3.00". Postmarked 29 Март 2001 (29 March 2001) and Капитал ДенБ The Universal Postal Union issued circular 15 for the Russian Federation on 14 January 2002, noting that illegal stamps have been issued in the name of 36 different territorial entities of the Russia Federation. Since these entities have issued no legal stamps any stamp found is illegal.
