Errors in The Simpsons Forever!

Created by Bruce Gomes (bruce@snpp.com)

Below is a list of typos, errors and printing variations in the book “The Simpsons Forever!,” published by HarperPerennial ( 0-06-098763-4 ) in December of 1999. The intention is to provide a simple reference to factual errors within rather than demote this otherwise fine guide to the series!

Just as the book The Simpsons Forever serves to complement the first book in the series, The Simpsons: A Complete Guide to Our Favorite Family, this list complements the list Errors in the Complete Guide.

All errors (even if only the type thereof) are emboldened for easy page-skimming.

If you know of any mistakes not listed here, please point them out in an e-mail. Please include the page number(s) containing the error! We gladly note all contributors names (if so desired) at the end of this document. For a complete list of additional books, see the Simpsons Book List.

BROADCAST DATES

p.52 Episode “When You Dish Upon A Star” (5F19) was first shown November 8, 1998 rather than November 8, 1999.

BLACKBOARD GAGS

p.34 Should be “My butt does not deserve a website” rather than “My butt does not deserve its own website” (3G04).

p.38 Although the opening was altered, Bart nonetheless appeared writing “I will not mess with the opening credits” at the opening of the show; not listed in book (5F09).

p.52 Should be “"butt.com" is not my E-mail address” rather than “"butt.butt" is not my E-mail address” (5F19). The second form appeared in subsequent showings inasmuch as butt.com is an actual web site address. In addition the web site address has quotation marks that are missing from the book.

CREDITING ERRORS

p.12 Joan Kenley (as Phone Voice) not credited (4F23).

p.17 Episode "Bart Star" (5F03) was written by Donick Cary, not David M. Stern.

p.17 Episode "Bart Star" (5F03) was directed by Dominick Polcino, not Mark Kirkland.

p.20 Phil Hartman (as Lionel Hutz) not credited (5F05).

p.79 Gedde Watanabe (as Voice of Toilet, "Average American" Waiter and Japanese Father, contestant on the game show) not credited (AABF20).

p.79 Karen Maruyama (as Japanese Stewardess) not credited (AABF20).

p.79 Denise Kumagai (as Japanese Mother, contestant on the game show) not credited (AABF20).

p.79 Keone Young not credited (AABF20).

p.86 Man in Dinner Jacket (aka Peter Lorre) (Lost Soul) was voiced by Karl Wiedergott not Dan Castellaneta (AABF04).

p.86 The British Raj Man (Lost Soul) was voiced by Harry Shearer not Dan Castellaneta (AABF04).

p.86 Bloodening Boy was voiced by Karl Wiedergott (in addition to Harry Shearer) not Dan Castellaneta (AABF07).

p.86 Vincent Price was voiced by Karl Wiedergott not Dan Castellaneta (AABF08).

p.86 Australian Gamekeeper was voiced by Karl Wiedergott not Dan Castellaneta (AABF10).

p.86 Pig of Eden was voiced by Karl Wiedergott not Dan Castellaneta (AABF14).

p.86 Central Hampstead of Cecil-Cecil (listed as simply Cecil) was voiced by Karl Wiedergott not Dan Castellaneta (AABF15).

p.86 Mr. Pennybags was voiced by Karl Wiedergott not Dan Castellaneta (AABF20).

p.86 "Real" Comptroller Atkins was voiced by Harry Shearer not Hank Azaria (AABF03).

p.87 "Fake" Comptroller Atkins (listed as "Comptroller Atkins (Otto)" was voiced by Karl Wiedergott not Harry Shearer (AABF03).

p.87 Bloodening Girl was voiced by Tress MacNeille (in addition to Maggie Roswell) not Pamela Hayden (AABF07).

p.87 Karl Wiedergott's name is missing altogether from the "Who Does What Voice" section. (See corrections above!)

MISCELLANEOUS

---- While it is understood that not every page is necessarily paginated, because of conflicts with illustrations, coloring, etc., there are a remarkable number of missing page numbers where there is ample white space to supply them (including p. 18, 27, 34, 38, 39, 42, 46, 58, 63, 68, 71 and 76).

p.12 In the character bio for the "real" Seymour Skinner he appears in a olive green uniform when it should be a dark green uniform, as it appears in the center picture in the upper half of the same page. (4F23)

p.20 The episode number for Episode “Lisa the Skeptic” (5F05) is missing.

p.24 In the section "The Stuff You May Have Missed" they supply an incorrect episode number, saying "The musical numbers in this episode were drawn from the following episodes... 1F09, 'Homer the Great'". That should be episode 2F09.

p.25 In the section "The Stuff You May Have Missed" they state that "Krusty is squirted in the face by Bart", when in fact Bart is squirted in the face by Lisa. (5F08)

p.41 In the section "The Stuff You May Have Missed" the last sentence states "The Khlav Kalash salesman, last seen in 4F22, 'The People of New York vs. Homer Simpson...'". The correct title of that episode is "The City of New York vs. Homer Simpson."

p.64 The Shriners appear in cars driving from left to right with Crazy Old Man in front and Grampa in the rear. That's the reverse of the order in the episode (Grampa in front and Crazy Old Man in rear). An intentionally incorrect placement to allow the cars to read "APU LOVES MANJULA" from left to right could have been easily 'solved' by having the cars driving from right to left. (AABF11).

---- On the back cover is mentions that it includes "Homeris-mmms!" instead of "Homer's-mmms!".

PRINTING VARIATIONS

Thus far all printings of this book are identical; that's to be expected, because they didn't have our list to inspire corrections until recently. Printings thus far in the United States;

1999 - 1st Printing
1999 - 2nd Printing
2000 - 3rd Printing
2000 - 4th Printing
2000 - 5th Printing
